What Our Volunteers Say About the Experience
We asked three of our recent volunteers one simple question: what surprised you most?
Sarah, a teacher from the UK who spent a month supporting a literacy program in Kenya, said: “I expected to be giving. I did not expect to receive so much in return. The resilience and joy of the children there completely changed my perspective on life.”
David, a web developer from Canada who volunteered remotely, shared: “I built a donation landing page from my kitchen table in Toronto. Knowing it helped raise funds for real programs made the work feel more meaningful than anything I have done professionally.”
Fatima, a nursing student from the Netherlands who joined a medical outreach team: “It was challenging, emotional, and the best decision I have ever made. I came home a better nurse and a more grateful person.”
Volunteering looks different for everyone. But the feeling it leaves behind is the same.
